Engineering/Manufacturing Instructor

Mr. Jones

Mr. Jones graduated high school in 1986 in Colorado. From the moment he entered the drafting lab, it was clear that engineering drafting and design would be a lifelong pursuit. With the invention of CAD and the PC, there was definitely no turning back! After graduation, he immediately was hired as a consultant in many industry sectors that included architecture, mining, electrical and mechanical engineering. In addition, he and his wife started their own graphics and design business in Colorado. After moving to California in 1990 and with over 24 years of experience in the Engineering and Architecture industries, he decided to become a full-time instructor at Petaluma High School. He is passionate about CTE and it's place within our education system. He hopes to provide students the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue their own passions in life.

Automotive Instructor

Mr. Benson

Mr. Benson attended Petaluma High School and graduated in 1999. He says the CTE pathways available at PHS contributed to his success in the automotive industry. After graduating PHS he attended Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix Arizona and studied Automotive, Heavy Diesel and Industrial technologies and has an associates degree in occupational studies.

After graduating UTI he joined a local touring NASCAR team which led to crewing for teams in every division of NASCAR, including the CUP series. He has also worked for car dealerships FORD, NISSAN, MASERATI and FERRARI. He also has retail store management experience with his local families businesses. In 2004 he started RBI racing and built championship winning cars at Petaluma Speedway.
